MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Mayor Hodson said it has been
suggested to him that we don’t need the Recreation Commission and that we could
get by with just a committee with just a few people and Mayor Hodson said this
is not his current feeling and he has no intention of getting rid of the
Commission. Mayor Hodson commented that
maybe we need a dialog about what the Commission is and does and will do and where
the Governing Body and the Mayor fit in.
The summer programs are under Steve Ward’s advise and the Mayor
suggested that the Commission talk to him.
The Mayor added that the Commission has served a very useful function
for the town and he would like it to continue.
Maybe over the next meeting or so, the Mayor is asking the Commission to
reflect on where the board members see themselves fitting in and what it is
each member would like to comment on.
John Young said this will
certainly give the Commission something to discuss over the next few meetings.
