The Land Conservancy of New Jersey and the Borough of Hopatcong have been steadily working on a series of projects to fulfill the mandate of the residents to purchase and preserve land for recreation and conservation.

The Land Conservancy has assisted the Borough of Hopatcong in receiving $1,148,750 in county grant funds for land preservation. The Land Conservancy has also helped bring three open space properties under contract: the 10 acre parcel on Stanhope Sparta Road, the 70 acres Farm Associates project, and the 36 acre Patel property; these projects total 116 acres.

The Land Conservancy will continue to work with the Borough to research projects to bring new funding into the municipality for land preservation.
