The list of properties will be advertised in the New Jersey Herald on Fridays,
September 16, 23, 30 and October 7, 2011

Tax Sale Information

The Tax Sale is an option bidding process for the Lien on the property.
Bidding starts at 18% interest on the Tax Sale Amount and works down to 0%. Premimus are accepted in $100.00 increments.

The Successful bidder must make payment before the close of the sale in guaranteed funds.
The successful bidder then becomes the Lien Holder.

Subsequent delinquent taxes can be paid by the Lien Holder, to be added to the Lien.
The lien holder must file an Affidavit of payment in the Collector's office for each subsequent payment made. No action can be taken by the lien holder until after 2 years, provided the lien holder has paid subsequent taxes. The lien holder can then begin foreclosure action.

Being a lien holder does not give you any rights to that property, until you have successfully foreclosed on said property.

to the Borough of Hopatcong at 18%.
