The Board of Health meets at 7:30 PM on the 4th Wednesday of every month in the Health
The Board of Health is an autonomous Board charged with setting public health policy under
which the Health Department operates. It is established in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A.
26:3-1 et seq. and is provided for in Chapter 24 "Board of Health" in the Codebook of the Borough
of Hopatcong. It consists of a seven-member board and two alternates appointed by the Mayor
with the advice and consent of the Council. The Board of Health must appoint a Registrar of Vital Statistics. All appointees of the Board of Health shall be governed by the rules of the Board and
subject to all laws, rules, and regulations governing said officers.
