NEW HONEYWELL ALERT SYSTEM

Emergency Communication System called "Hopatcong Alert."
This system allows us to send general and emergency communications
to our residents as needed.

HUDSON FARM CHARITY HIKE 2013

"A GREAT SUCCESS"

1530 Hikers and volunteers participated in
this year's Hudson Farm Charity Hike raising $47,898
for the participating organizations. The highest totals to date!

ANIMAL LICENSING REMINDER

June 1st - June 30th, 2013

Animal Licensing will begin on June 1, 2013.
An application for 2013 - 2014 can be found In the
Recycling Newsletter that was sent to all residents in February.
Please do not send in your application until after
the starting date of June 1st, 2013.
If applications are received earlier, they will be returned.

After June 30th, 2013, there will be a late charge
of $2.00 per dog per month.
Although there are no late charges for cats,
they must be licensed as well.

DEER HUNTING APPLICATION FORM

FOR 2012 - 2013 HUNTING SEASON

At the December 5, 2012 Mayor and Council meeting
the Governing Body approved deer hunting (bow only)
in the Natural Preserve during the 2012-2013 hunting season.
Hunters who are interested can pick up an application starting on
Monday, December 10,2012 at Borough Hall Clerk's office.

LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSITANCE PROGRAM

The Department of Community Affairs recently announced
that supplemental benefits are available through the
federally-funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Eligible households do not need to reapply, the benefits are
available because there was an increase in funding.

MEETING BY-LAWS

Borough meetings to be conducted in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order, and at the discretion of the Mayor or presiding Officer.

Public Comment Period (s) shall provide an opportunity for each individual to speak for five (5) minutes, and when appropriate as determined by the presiding official, an extension may be granted. Members of the governing body may respond to the individual if they so chose at the conclusion of the Public Comment Period. Any and all comments should be addressed to the governing Body, not to the general public and delivered in a civil and non-provocative manner. The governing body shall by motion close the public comment period by a majority vote. The Public Comment Period shall not exceed one (1) hour unless approved by a majority vote of the governing body.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Borough is looking for volunteers to join our "Firewise Communities Program." This program is intended to serve as a resource for local agencies and fire departments who are working toward a common goal: reduce loss of lives, property, and resources to wildland fire by building and maintaining communities in a way that is compatible with our natural surroundings. Volunteers are needed to hand out flyers, register people at the recycling center, help organize Firewise Day, assist the chairman in writing progress reports and other activities.

in the town of Hopatcong on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

for this rewarding community effort.
